INVERSIONS
Inversions invokes the remains of parties and celebrations in the public sphere, in metropolis I know. The series ponders how these remnants archive moments of joy and satisfaction, as well as consumerist pleasure and meaning-seeking rituals.
Building on my previous artistic practice, Inversions engages the traces of actions that stem from a shared human desire to overcome the limits of existence, and how society deals with this type of desire. More specifically, it addresses entertainment culture, investigating how it denotes discrepancies between society’s promises and their realization.
