The “Sprayed Plants” series is part of my visual research into how “me-first” culture manifests itself in the urban landscape. The images focus on plants that occupy an in-between space—positioned between a graffiti artist and a wall to be painted. Working in half-frame format with highly color-sensitive 35mm film shifts the focus: the chromatic intensity brings the plants to the foreground and dispels their supposed insignificance.
