HOME (2014-2020)

HOme shows the images that come to mind when I think of home. Starting from the question of what home actually means — as a place, as a feeling, as a political construct — the series examines the weight the word carries. Home and homeland are terms that have long been politically instrumentalized to evoke belonging, exclusion, and identity.

The series responds by turning inward. Rather than accepting the collective, ideologically charged meaning of the word, each image asserts a personal one. Through quiet attention to what I associate with home, a portrait of the self emerges — one that expresses inner states and reclaims home as something intimate, subjective, and resistant to appropriation
